How to Import Wholesale Perfume from Dubai to Kenya
A practical guide for Kenya importers buying perfume wholesale in Dubai.
Kenya buyers often buy wholesale perfume in Dubai, then import into Nairobi, Mombasa, or other entry points. Pick a brand owner who can reorder the same SKU, price landed cost with your freight and clearing agent, and start destination registration and customs steps before goods arrive.
Ballerina Perfume (AL BAJAH ALSUODA TRADING L.L.C) supplies owned fragrance brands from Dubai and issues commercial export documents for confirmed orders. Kenya registration, customs, duties, and clearance stay with the importer unless a written agreement says otherwise. Ballerina does not claim that a Kenyan authority has cleared your shipment.

1. First decide what kind of supplier you need
Dubai has brand owners, manufacturers, licensed distributors, and general traders. Reorder security is stronger when the company you pay owns the brands you put on the shelf — not only when a carton is available once.
Ballerina owns and supplies these lines from Dubai:
Woody Sence · Bailando · AZA Rodier · Ballerina Mark · Rodier Plus · RayBarton · Sagrada
SKU count and bottle sizes depend on the current catalogue and are confirmed on your quotation — we do not invent a fixed SKU number in this article.
See /brands · /wholesale · /markets/kenya.
This guide does not use designer brand names, “inspired by,” or clone/dupe language. Assortment tips use family, price point, and tester language only.
2. Sizing your first mixed order
Treat the first shipment as market research you can sell, not a full warehouse fill.
Item | Current terms |
|---|---|
Minimum order | MOQ 300 mixed units across brands, fragrances, and available sizes |
Wholesale starting points | From USD 1.22 / AED 4.50 — confirmed floors / starting points; final unit prices still require a quotation (no other invented prices on this page) |
Lead time (stocked) | About 3 days after payment terms are met and the mix is confirmed |
Payment (first order) | 50% advance, 50% before shipping |
Assortment tip | Spread across 12–20 fragrances rather than one hero SKU |
Exact mix, carton counts, and available SKUs are locked in the quotation before the deposit.

3. Landed cost framework (no invented rates)
Ex-works Dubai is the start of the calculation, not the end. Build a simple framework with your freight forwarder and a licensed clearing agent in Kenya:
Goods cost — unit prices from your Ballerina quotation (starting from the floors above; mix confirmed on quote)
Freight — air often suits a first 300-unit test; sea usually needs higher volume to make sense
Duty, taxes, and fees — depend on classification and change over time; get the current position from your agent (no invented rates, HS codes as facts, or KES figures on this page)
Kenya registration / import controls — importer’s responsibility; start early (see FAQ)
Clearing fees, terminal charges, inland transport to Nairobi, Mombasa, Eastleigh, or your warehouse — plus a buffer for breakage
Divide total local-currency cost by bottle count. That per-bottle number is what wholesale and retail must cover.

4. Documents Ballerina provides vs what the importer arranges
Typically needed for the file:
Commercial invoice
Packing list
Certificate of origin
Airway bill or bill of lading (from your forwarder)
Ballerina issues the commercial export documents when confirmed for that order (invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and batch composition notes when applicable).
You / your forwarder / licensed clearing agent arrange Kenya registration and permits, duty, customs, clearance, and inland delivery.
Default rule: destination registration, customs, and duties stay with the buyer unless a written agreement says otherwise. See /export.
5. Common mistakes that cost Kenya importers money
Paying 100% upfront to a supplier you have never verified. Our first-order terms are 50% advance / 50% before shipping for a reason.
Starting Kenya registration / clearance only after goods arrive. Holds and demurrage are expensive — begin with your agent before or alongside order planning.
Comparing invoice prices instead of landed bottles. Confirm millilitres, pack quality, reorderability of the same SKU, and the full landed framework — not only the Dubai line item.
Assuming Ballerina has cleared the shipment with a Kenyan authority. We do not claim that. Clearance stays with the importer by default.
6. Assortment tips for Nairobi, Mombasa, and Eastleigh
Many buyers serve Nairobi retail, Eastleigh wholesale districts, Mombasa, and other Kenyan channels. Plan by your channel — not a generic “Kenya perfume” list:
Balance fresh, floral, oriental, and woody families (from catalogue data — not invented notes)
Keep two price points so shoppers can choose a smaller or larger format
Include testers — open-market and shop sales often close when the customer smells the bottle
No designer names, clone language, or “inspired by” comparisons. Own-brand range only.

7. Frequently asked questions
How do I import wholesale perfume from Dubai to Kenya?
Source from a Dubai brand owner, confirm a mixed first order (MOQ 300), arrange freight with your forwarder, and complete Kenya registration, customs, and duties with a licensed clearing agent — before goods arrive when possible. Ballerina supplies owned brands and commercial export documents; destination steps stay with the importer by default.
What is the MOQ from Dubai to Kenya?
MOQ 300 mixed units across owned brands and available sizes. Exact SKUs and cartons are confirmed in your quotation before the advance payment.
What are wholesale starting prices?
Confirmed wholesale starting points from USD 1.22 / AED 4.50. These are floors / starting points, not a full price list. Final unit prices depend on mix and sizes and are confirmed on quotation.
Who handles Kenya registration, customs, and duties?
The importer. Confirm exact registration, permit, and clearance steps with a licensed clearing agent and the relevant Kenyan authority. Requirements depend on product type and change over time. This page does not invent official PDF URLs or claim an agency partnership. Ballerina does not claim that a Kenyan authority has cleared your shipment. This is not legal advice.
Do you clear goods in Kenya for me?
No by default. Clearance and inland delivery are handled by your forwarder and licensed agent unless a written agreement says otherwise.
What documents does Ballerina provide vs what I arrange?
Ballerina: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and batch composition notes when confirmed for that export. You / forwarder / agent: AWB or B/L, Kenya registration/permits, duty, customs, and clearance.
When should I start clearance vs ordering?
Before goods land — ideally before or with order planning. Waiting until the shipment arrives is a common and expensive mistake.
How long is lead time when stocked?
Stocked lines are typically prepared in about 3 days after terms and mix are confirmed. Availability is confirmed before you pay the balance.
How do I pay on a first order?
50% advance, 50% before shipping, as stated on the quotation. Do not assume credit on a first order.
Can I get exclusivity for Nairobi or another Kenyan city?
Exclusivity is not automatic. It is normally discussed after a successful first order, against a monthly volume commitment and a written agreement — one distributor per city when agreed. The monthly number is set in that agreement; we never invent it on this page.
Can I visit Deira before buying?
Yes. Address: Shop No 2-4, SALIM BIN AHMED BUTTI, Al Dhagaya / Murshid Bazar, Naif, Deira, Dubai. Arrange on WhatsApp +971 50 150 4302. See /contact.
How do Kenya, Nigeria, and Ghana guides differ?
Same Dubai sourcing and wholesale logic; destination rules differ by country. Sister articles: /blog/import-wholesale-perfume-dubai-nigeria · /blog/import-wholesale-perfume-dubai-ghana.
